The Mission of PostgreSQL, Inc. is to promote the continuous growth in use, application development, training and certification programs for PostgreSQL™ by:

1. providing companies and individuals with a commercial, full service support organization to meet their business needs.

2. using Support Contract revenues for funding projects and PostgreSQL™ enhancements that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to achieve through the current volunteer contributors, and to provide more experienced and prolific volunteers with consulting opportunities and financial recognition for significant participation in the most advanced areas of research, development, and implementation of PostgreSQL™ solutions

3. expand the PostgreSQL™ cvs repository with all new source code, bug reports, and fixes resulting from the activities of PostgreSQL, Inc.

4. actively promote PostgreSQL™ through advertising and marketing efforts in trade journals, trade shows, articles and reviews

5. design, develop, and maintain a world class training and certification program for PostgreSQL™ programmers, developers, consultants, and IT professionals.
